I have an array of weaknesses that I can bring up to tell you if I ground myself on the varying opinions from other people. This for sure will only make me unhappy about myself and feel helpless. However it came to me, how can God who is perfect make an imperfect creation? When He made each one of us, He had a clear vision of each of our purpose and he perfectly made each one of us for this intention. Our “deficiencies” as our human eyes may see them are not really limitations; they are just part of whole purpose for which we are created.
Dr. Holden author of the best-selling book, Happiness NOW said that the happiness that we all seek for is actually our “original nature.” We “feel happiest when we begin to know who we truly are” and actualize this nature.
Let us identify our talents and confront ourselves with these so called weaknesses and view everything as a whole. Then let us find meaning in the connectedness of all these aspects about us. These tell us about the nature that we need to embrace and the mission for which we are called to do. We need to examine ourselves and discern for the things that lead us to the blossoming of this nature.
As learning is a lifetime process, the changes that we continually undertake should only bring us to the peak of our natural magnificence. It is not to shape ourselves according to the subjective judgement from other people. While we can also grow from the feedback we receive, we take only those that go with the truths about ourselves. Let us be happy by living our authentic selves and the purpose of which we are made.
